Exceptions committee
The Exceptions Committee considers cases of students who are over their student‑housing limit but wish to continue residing in a University dormitory.
Student housing limits according to the dormitory regulations:
Undergraduate/bachelor: up to 4 years (students in programs that are officially longer than 3 years will be eligible for up to one additional year after the official end of their program).
Graduate/master: up to 3 years.
Graduate/master conversion program: up to 2 years.
Postgraduate: up to 5 years;
Postgraduate conversion program: up to 2 years;
Total maximum eligibility for student housing: up to 10 years.
Please read and follow these guidelines:
- The committee convenes once a month.
- Applications are considered by a committee composed of the Dean of Students, the Director of the Dormitories, and a representative of the dormitory administration.
- Committee decision is sent by email.
- To ensure that the committee can consider your application, please provide full information. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- The committee may decide to request information from your academic unit.
- In certain cases, before convening, the committee may request further information from you.
- You may include official documents in support of your application (e.g. academic certificates, certificate from the Committee for Teaching Affairs, medical documents).
